Minor finish line changes

Guys, we are changing the finish a little this year. We have not figured out a good way to explain it yet....need to draw a map. It won't make much difference for the racers, more for the volunteers and spectators.

The outdoor banner is the true finish this year, (not inside the building).

The trail finish is the same, but when you arrive to the casino building turn left (instead of right) for the finish line banner towards the pool/lake end of the building.
Then you will go around the building to the right around the pool where there is a small door that you can enter. If you follow the signs and go downstairs, there is a space with security cameras to put your bike/sled and gear.

We have booked several suite rooms around #259,261,263 (on the ground floor) overlooking straight down the trail and the the finish banner for the volunteers/spectators to see you coming and take photos from the decks.

There is also a larger hospitality suite near the pool above the secure gear area, but it does not have a view. We won't use the big room we had last year.

All the rooms #259, 359, 459, 559 look straight down the trail, so good spots to take photos from the deck.

Does that make any sense?

2010 Arrowhead technical T-shirts

Photos of this year's T-shirt design by Pierre Ostor and John Storkamp. They are white with short sleeves and made of light technical material. The printing by SweatVac.com is sublimated so it will stay better intact after washing.

If we have any extra's, you may purchase them ($20) during the gear check at the Backus Auditorium in International Falls.

Move Tipi to Crescent restaurant parking lot.

9257 E. Olson Road
Lake Vermillion/Cook, MN 55723
218-666-0100
owners: Greg & Jodi LaPatka

The Crescent restaurant owner has kindly offered to allow us to put the Tipi on their property this year. It is located on Olson Road just south after the Wakemup shelter (which is on top of a hill). They will plow out some parking for the volunteers and spectators to use.

Participants will need to exit off the trail to the left and go about 200 feet to find the Tipi. There will be water there for racers this year and a heated trailer for the snowmobile volunteers. Racers are allowed to go into the restaurant and buy food, but it will not be open all night. The restaurant has great food and a wide variety of choices. Hours are 11am to 1am.

Racers are allowed to purchase goods/services from any of our checkpoint sponsors.
(No alcohol is allowed, though, as it causes hypothermia).
